Registered Nurse

Job Title : Registered Nurse – Preop / PACU / Endoscopy

Location : Sugar Land, TX 77478 & Houston, TX

Work Schedule : Monday – Friday

Preop : 06 : 00 AM – 2 : 30 PM

PACU : 07 : 30 AM – 4 : 00 PM

Position Summary :

The RN will deliver high-quality, age-specific patient care in Preoperative, PACU, and Endoscopy settings. This role requires effective communication with physicians, anesthesia providers, management, staff, patients, and families. The nurse will adhere to organizational policies and standards set by ASPAN, AORN, and SGNA.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

Clinical Activities (50%)

Conduct nursing assessments and assist with exams and treatments.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation.

Provide patient education and instructions.

Participate in preoperative call processes.

Maintain unit supplies and cleanliness.

Collaborate with ASC and clinic teams.

Quality & Safety (20%)

Modify care for complex patients and coordinate with ASC team.

Report near misses and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.

Maintain a safe environment (e.g., clear hallways, report broken equipment).

Customer Service (30%)

Communicate delays and updates to families and team members.

Advocate for patient needs and preferences.

Build professional relationships with physicians and patients.

Educate patients on ASC policies to prevent misunderstandings.

Qualifications : Education :

Required : Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)

Preferred : Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Experience :

Required : Minimum 2 years RN experience in PACU, Pre-Op, or Endoscopy

Preferred : Experience in Pre-Admission Testing, ER, Infusion Therapy, ASC, or hospital setting

Licenses / Certifications :

Required : Texas RN License, American Heart Association BLS

Required for Endoscopy / PACU : ACLS

Preferred : PALS

Skills :

Basic computer proficiency

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to work across multiple units and locations

Preferred Attributes :

Experience in multi-specialty care of surgical and endoscopy patients

Flexibility to travel between three designated locations
