This role includes sterile product preparation, NICU / pediatric dosing, and participation in multidisciplinary care. Responsibilities Verify and process medication orders via CPOE / clinical system, evaluating for contraindications, allergies, and interactions. Document interventions and suspected adverse drug events (ADEs). Provide direct patient care, clinical consultations, and evidence-based recommendations. Dispense medications accurately, ensuring the "five rights" : patient, drug, dose, route, frequency. Supervise and support pharmacy technicians; verify activities and participate in performance evaluations. Manage formulary, minimize non-formulary requests, and apply therapeutic substitutions. Conduct storage inspections, maintain inventory, and escalate shortages as needed. Manage controlled substances using Omnicell CSM; investigate and report discrepancies per DEA / NJ regulations. Compound sterile and hazardous products per USP / ; verify pediatric / NICU doses. Ensure compliance with quality standards and patient safety protocols. Provide outpatient prescription services, patient counseling, and customer service as required.
