About The Position

Job Title : Operating Room Circulating Nurse

Hours per Shift : 10 hours (0630-1700)

Experience : Minimum of 2 years

License : Current nursing license required

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, PALS

Must-Have :

• Minimum of 2 years of experience
• Certification in ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• Proficiency in EPIC EMR

Description :

Provide direct patient care in the operating room.

Evaluate outcomes and adjust the nursing care process as needed to ensure optimal patient care.

Perform focused assessments and reassessments, including for pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general patient populations.

Exhibit cooperation and a positive attitude toward colleagues in other departments.

Serve as a professional member of the surgical services team.

Communicate any questions about the appropriateness of medical or nursing care through the chain of command as necessary.

Perform treatments and procedures according to individual training and capabilities, including cardiac monitoring and care of patients receiving procedural sedation.

Prepare the surgical suite for procedures per established standards and hospital policy.

Ensure safe care of all patients during their stay in the operating room according to relevant standards and hospital policy.

Maintain knowledge of all equipment used in the surgical services department.

Document medications and nursing care accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR).

Teach patients based on identified learning needs and evaluate the effectiveness of the teaching.

Incorporate families into the teaching process as appropriate.

Holiday coverage may be required.
