The Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing company vehicles and equipment. This role requires knowledge of diesel engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, and various mechanical components to ensure that vehicles and equipment function effectively and safely.
Essential Functions
- Maintain fleet of trucks
- Diagnosing and repairing class 8 trucks (heavy duty)
- Ability to communicate effectively to ensure efficient repairs are made
- Evaluate truck performance
- Inspect equipment
- Report mechanical issues and problems to shop manager
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company's core values, competencies, and skills.
Education Qualifications
High School or Equivalent is requiredAssociate's Degree or technical certificate in automotive or diesel technology, maintenance or repairExperience Qualifications
Prior experience in heavy highway construction is preferred3-5 years experience working on Class 8 Trucks is preferredSkills and Abilities
