Receptionist Position At Summer Creek Animal Clinic

Summer Creek Animal Clinic opened in 2018. We began with a mission to provide a Fear-Free experience with compassionate and excellent client service and patient care. We are the first and only AAHA accredited and Fear-Free certified hospital in Fort Worth, TX.

We are looking for team members who are passionate about what they do and want to help us carry out our mission as a Fear-Free hospital and to build and grow a positive work culture. We are intentionally only open Monday-Friday to help provide more life balance in a stressful and demanding field.

We are located in Southwest Fort Worth in a rapidly growing and developing part of the city. Fort Worth has much to offer like its neighbor Dallas, but with a smaller and slower feel. The food options are rich and diverse, the music and art scene is thriving, and the museums and zoo are some of the best. Downtown Fort Worth is known for its food and nightlife as well as being one of the cleanest downtowns in the country. Thanks to Chisholm Trail Parkway the clinic is only 15 minutes from the heart of downtown as well as popular areas such as Magnolia Ave and West 7th.

Receptionist Responsibilities

• Receive and place calls to clients for the purpose of scheduling.
• Prioritize multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner.
• Maintain proper documentation through client and pet records, i.e. referral documentation, previous medical history received, etc.
• Assist all clients by providing necessary instructions, information and invoices, dispense prescription items per the veterinarians instructions, and schedule all future appointments.
• Utilize hospital computer systems to document medical records and communicate with clients and teammates.
• Manage the financial needs of the hospital by maintaining accurate balances through collection of client transactions, following all cash and credit card handling procedures, and following proper opening and closing procedures.
• Excellent customer service skills and an exceptional level of communication in a professional manner.
• Advocate for pets through client education on preventative care, pet health needs, treatment recommendations and all other hospital services / procedures.
• Maintain a positive and inviting attitude in all interactions with clients, pets and other teammates.
• Demonstrate ability to show empathy toward clients and treat pets with compassion and respect.
• Utilizing standard office / business equipment.
• Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
• Flexible schedule including some weekend and holiday shifts.
• Experience with veterinary software is preferred.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
• Possession of organizational skills.
• Critical thinking Understanding logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, good judgment and ability to manage stressful situations.

Pay range of $15-$18 / hour based on experience
