Summary :

The Vice President, Engineering & Technology, is an executive leader responsible for setting the strategic direction and driving the transformation of product, project, and technology functions across the enterprise. This role will shape and execute the technology vision, foster innovation, and ensure operational excellence to support Virtual's long-term business objectives. The Vice President will champion both internally and externally facing applications and technology platforms that deliver exceptional value to Virtual's clients and stakeholders.

Preference for local candidates to work out of our Wakefield, MA office 3 days / week.

Here's what you'll do :

Strategic Leadership & Vision

Develop and communicate a compelling technology vision aligned with the company's mission, growth strategy, and market trends.
Lead enterprise-wide technology transformation initiatives, driving innovation and digital maturity.
Influence and collaborate with executive leadership to shape organizational strategy, investment priorities, and business outcomes.
Build and nurture a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement across multidisciplinary teams.

Enterprise Architecture & Engineering Excellence

Oversee the strategic evolution of Virtual and client architectures, DevOps, and multi-cloud solutions to support scalable, secure, and future-ready platforms.

Guide the adoption of emerging technologies and best practices to maintain competitive advantage.

Set standards for technical excellence, architectural governance, and risk management in a metrics driven culture.

Product & Platform Strategy

Define and execute product management strategies that anticipate market needs and drive sustainable business impact.

Oversee platform roadmaps, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, scalability, and innovation.

Translate complex business requirements into actionable technology strategies and measurable outcomes.

Financial Stewardship & Resource Optimization

Own and manage the technology operations budget at the enterprise level, including strategic planning, forecasting, and investment analysis.

Drive cost efficiency, ROI, and value creation through strategic vendor partnerships, resource allocation, and technology investments.

Provide regular financial reporting to senior leadership, identifying opportunities for savings and performance improvements.

Program & Portfolio Management

Lead enterprise-wide program and portfolio management, ensuring delivery of strategic initiatives on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Establish and champion best-in-class governance, risk management, and performance frameworks.

IT Services, Infrastructure & Security

Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of internal IT operations and infrastructure.

Oversee technology lifecycle management, asset optimization, and infrastructure modernization.

Lead enterprise information security strategy, compliance, and risk mitigation.

Cross-functional Collaboration & Influence

Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to senior leadership, business units, clients and external stakeholders.

Provide regular executive level updates on strategic initiatives, risk, and value realization.

As our next Vice President, Engineering & Technology, you will bring :

15+ years of progressive technology leadership, including executive-level experience in strategic planning, transformation, and enterprise architecture.

10+ years of engineering experience, specifically with developing applications and leveraging external APIs.

Strong understanding of IT service management, security best practices, and Salesforce development.

Proven track record of shaping and executing technology vision at scale, with significant impact on business growth and innovation.

Exceptional leadership in cross-functional program delivery, stakeholder engagement, and executive communication.

Demonstrated success in financial stewardship, investment planning, and resource optimization.

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or commensurate experience; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., PMP, CISSP, ITIL, Salesforce) strongly preferred.

The target hiring range for this role is $180,000 - $220,000 USD (annually). The starting base salary will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other job-related factors.
