Chassis Container Trailer Mechanic

PRS is looking for an Experienced CCT Mechanic to Join or team at the CSX Syracuse rail terminal in a recession-proof industry with Teamsters Union 317.   This is a permanent position and is an essential job.

PRIOR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Starting Rate : $25

Schedule :

• Must be willing to work weekends, all shifts are Union bids and awarded according to seniority
• 0500-1330
• 0900-1730
• 1100-1930
• 1200-2030

Job Summary

The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for inspecting and analyzing malfunctions, completing repairs and efficiently rebuilding chassis & trailers.

Job Duties and Responsibilities :

Description of B mechanic is as follows :

Duties shall include performing a P.M. and servicing all types of equipment on the terminal. ability to work on nonpower equipment including but not limited to chassis, containers and trailers; change tires, troubleshoot and repair electrical system and air system; change and rebuild legs; complete brake job; replace suspension components and align axles; replace chassis ty-down components; minor welding. leg braces, T / L handles, leg mounts, x-member repair and replacement; main rail cracks; perform and certify DOT FMCSA inspections; check plug and unplug reefers; straighten steel container panels; patch aluminum roofs or panels. has to own his own tools.
