Chief Financial Officer

In a public accounting firm, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) has a multifaceted role encompassing financial oversight, strategic planning, and operational management. They are responsible for the firm's financial health, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing financial leadership to the partners and management team. Condley and Company, LLP is searching for a CFO who not only has the technical skills required but is also comfortable in a leadership role that requires clear communication, team development, and personal integrity.

Minimum entry requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA preferred
  • 10+ years of related experience in business finance or accounting
  • Advanced understanding of accounting and regulatory issues
  • Solid interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills

Core responsibilities :

  • Financial management - Oversee the day-to-day budget, cash flow, and financial reporting for the firm, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Strategic planning - Long-term financial planning, advising on growth strategies, and making recommendations on investments and resource allocation.
  • Risk management - Responsible for identifying and mitigating financial risks, including fraud, compliance issues, and economic uncertainties.
  • Operational efficiency - Oversee the finance and accounting departments, ensuring smooth and efficient operations, and implementing technology solutions to improve financial processes.
  • Regulatory compliance - The CFO ensures the firm adheres to all relevant financial regulations, including those related to taxes, reporting, and professional conduct.
  • Partner and stakeholder communication - Effectively communicate the firm's financial performance and strategic direction to partners and other stakeholders.
  • Leadership and team management - Provide leadership and guidance to the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

  • Budgeting and forecasting - Developing and managing the firm's budget and forecasting future financial performance.
  • Financial reporting and analysis - Overseeing the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and related key statistical information.
  • Cash management - Ensuring the firm has sufficient cash on hand to meet its obligations and managing its investments.
  • Mergers and acquisitions - Leading financial aspects of any mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures.
  • Tax planning - Developing and implementing tax strategies to optimize the firm's tax position.
  • Technology implementation - Overseeing the implementation and management of financial software and technology.
