Our client in the Pittsburgh Area is seeking a Chemical Operator for 3rd Shift

Duties :

  • Operate a variety of chemical process equipment, including :
  • Reaction systems
  • Distillation systems
  • Extractors
  • Autoclaves
  • Reactors
  • Pumps
  • Centrifuges
  • Inspect process equipment for mechanical defects and malfunctions.
  • Train operations personnel
  • Monitor and record Chemical reactions, Gauge readings, Production shifts, Equipment malfunctions
  • Supervise and coordinate chemical operations and employee activities during assigned shift.
  • Draw product samples and perform quality control tests to verify product meets specifications.
  • Recommend improvements to Production methods & Equipment performance

Requirements :

  • High School diploma, Associates or higher preferred
  • Individual must have excellent mathematical and reading skills.
  • Proficient mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity is essential.
  • Occasional lifting requirement of 50 lbs from the knees and waist.
  • Incumbent must have adequate eyesight in order to inspect and describe reactions.
  • The ability to wear a respirator while performing certain job functions is essential.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours.
