Why you’re here As a senior designer you will lead innovative design projects that transform workplaces and labs for a diverse range of clients, including those in the Life Science and Corporate sectors. As a key player in Unispace’s design team, you will collaborate closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams to deliver high-impact, functional, and beautiful spaces. Your leadership, creativity, and passion for design will help elevate Unispace’s reputation while mentoring and inspiring the next generation of designers. Your experience and skills 8+ years of experience as an Interior Designer or Interior Architect
Demonstrated success in leading high-performing design teams for Life Science, Corporate, and Commercial projects, including restacking, renovations, and phasing
Ability to deliver innovative and impactful design solutions
Experience in developing comprehensive construction documentation
Proficiency in design tools, including Revit, CAD, InDesign, Photoshop, and Excel
Strong presentation skills, both written and verbal
Licensure (NCIDQ, WELL) preferred but not required
Experience pitching and presenting to high-profile clients; experience in designing large corporate campuses is a plus
What you’re responsible for Lead a variety of projects, from large-scale to smaller initiatives
Work closely with clients, providing support and solutions to assist their internal teams
Collaborate with the Design Principal and all members of the Unispace team to ensure our methodology is implemented throughout the project lifecycle
Communicate effectively with clients, designers, consultants, and technical and construction teams to exceed client expectations
Lead project teams in managing all aspects of design work, including preparing drawings, finish boards, and full documentation
Transform and refresh workplaces and labs for a diverse range of clients
Partner with the Business Development and Construction teams to educate potential clients on Unispace’s unique value proposition
Oversee coordination between clients, teams, and various consultants (MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, structural, etc.) to ensure smooth project execution
Lead the design process from conceptual design to final construction documents
Mentor junior staff, helping them produce exceptional designs and develop their skills
Create and deliver presentations that impress and inspire clients
Deliver projects that are visually stunning, functional, and financially successful
Contribute as a valued member of a cross-functional team, stepping in where needed to ensure project success
