The Sr. Architect - Project Manager is a key member of BLDD Architects' Design team and is the engine of our practice. They will collaborate with the best design talent in the Midwest to create and innovate for school districts, colleges, religious institutions, and senior living projects. Our architects / project managers are challenged to solve design and functional problems from day one and apply their talents to meet the needs of our teams and clients. Reporting to a Principal of the firm, the Sr. Architect - Project Manager will work with other design professionals, firm leaders, and consultants on project teams to deliver exceptional architecture and a world-class client experience.

Responsibilities
- Architect 1 – Primary Responsibilities
Collaborate with other architects, engineers, interior and graphic designers, and builders to understand how the space should function and appear.
Prepare sketches and visual aids to showcase preliminary designs, drawings, and reports, utilizing design applications. Modify plans as required.Maintain current knowledge of trends and materials, techniques, and other innovative developments in design.Establish and maintain good working relationships with clients, networking groups, professional organizations, and the local community to promote brand awareness.Perform additional duties and responsibilities as requested or required.Architect 2 – Additional ResponsibilitiesPlan, design, and facilitate the execution of elements for new building designs and / or building expansions or renovation designs.
Demonstrate strong technical understanding and provide guidance to Architect 1.Collaborate with internal team members to select and determine materials and provide recommendations to Architect 3.Create detailed plans integrating engineering, electrical, and HVAC considerations; present plans to Architect 3 for review and approval.Architect 3 – Additional ResponsibilitiesVisit the project site to monitor progress and ensure client satisfaction, resolving any complaints or concerns.
Coordinate with clients regarding designs and specifications, collaborating with the Sr. Architect on estimated costs and proposed construction schedule.Order or obtain necessary materials, adhering to project and budget specifications.Sr. Architect – Additional ResponsibilitiesIdentify, through consultation, the client's preferences to define priorities and visions in terms of needs vs. desires.
Prepare scale drawings and contract requirements and submit for bids. Collaborate with clients to select and award contracts.Determine timelines and project costs and present accurate estimates to clients and BLDD design leaders.Manage Design team members, providing guidance and direction throughout all phases of the project life cycle; oversee the installation of materials and other design elements.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in architecture or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Master's degree preferred.Experience levels : Architect 3 (8-12 years), Sr. Architect (12+ years).Day travel within the regional Midwest up to 10%.Valid State Driver's License required.Architectural license required, preferably in IL and / or MO.Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.Strong work ethic, energetic, optimistic, and positive attitude.Attention to detail with strong organizational skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Sheets & Docs, Adobe Acrobat and Bluebeam.Strong expertise in Revit, Lumion, SketchUp and other modeling software.Willingness to learn and contribute to the team's success.Ability to juggle multiple priorities to meet deadlines.Creative work requiring independent judgment and discretion; output may be varied and not strictly standardized by time.Benefits
