Description :
The LVN is an integral part of the clinical team at the Department of Radiation Oncology at BASS Medical Group’s Comprehensive Cancer Center in Walnut Creek. The LVN will perform clinical duties related to radiation oncology care in an outpatient setting and assist in some administrative duties. This individual works closely with the radiation therapists, front desk personnel, office manager and radiation oncologists.
- Prepare for and assist in patient encounters (consults / follow-ups / OTV / telehealth visits, etc.), including but not limited to :
Chart-prep
Initial patient intake (vitals, medical histories and reason for visits, etc.)Prepare patients for examinationGenerate and document encounter notesGenerate orders per MD requestsAssists in preparation of additional notes including, but not limited to :End of treatment instructions
Procedure notesTreatment summariesPatient-requested documents – disability forms, excuse letters, etc.Authorization / appeals lettersParticipate in educating / counseling patients on logistics of their radiotherapy courseGenerate tasks and reminder for MD (signing orders, prescriptions, etc.)Manage QCL tasksHelp manage clinic scheduleManage certain encounter note / document templatesContact patients per MD instructions, including but not limited toNotify patient of normal lab results
Brief pre or post-treatment check-upsAnswer / respond to patient questionsTriage staff / MD related issuesTriage referring physician callsCoordinate procedure schedules with urologist, surgery center and provider servicesTrack brachytherapy patients, pre-op results and prepare Brachytherapy packet / brachytherapy order forms / H&PAssist in special procedures (SpaceOAR, prostate volume studies) including preparing equipment and applicatorsHelp maintain clinic / office supplies and inventoryAssist front office / medical assistants as neededCreate and update SOPs related to job duties and responsibilitiesParticipate in departmental meetingsRequirements :

California Vocational Nurse Certification and LicenseCPR / BLS CertifiedMinimum three years of clinical experience in a Medical Office setting preferredMinimum one year of clinical experience in Radiation Oncology setting preferredPhysical Requirements

Compensation will be based on experience
Pay Scale / Ranges :
$37.66 / hour to $50.34 / hour (and the hourly equivalent for salaried employees).
Employees actual pay rate will depend on a host of factors including, without limitation, job location, specialty, skillset, education, and experience. The pay scale / ranges shown are representative of the pay rates for the job title reflected above, but an employees actual pay rate will be determined on a case-by-case basis.Job Status : Full Time
