Athletic Trainer

We are looking for an Athletic Trainer who wants a little variety in their job. This Trainer will spend a majority of their time helping at our covered schools, Wausau West, Wausau East, DC Everest, Merrill, Marathon, Newman Catholic, Horace Mann Middle School, and John Muir Middle School. The second component to this position is to help cover endurance related events in our community, like running and biking events with Ironbull. Every day will be different and exciting as you help athletes of all ages.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ATHLETIC TRAINER

Athletic Trainers will spend most of their time in the local schools helping athletes prepare for practices and games, checking in with athletes to continue their recovery, and covering sporting events. There will be a small portion of their time spent in the clinic working with our DME program and other related tasks. Communication between Athletic Trainers, Physical / Occupational Therapists, and providers is a must and will be a part of this job.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ATHLETIC TRAINER

Nationally certified through the NATA Board of Certification

Current Wisconsin Athletic Trainer Licensure or the ability to apply

Desire to provide excellent patient care while working as a team

Self-motivated and ability to work independently

WORK SCHEDULE

This position requires after school and some weekend hours to cover sporting events and allow student athletes time in the training room to prepare for practice and competition.
