The Accounting Generalist
The Accounting Generalist supports the Finance team by verifying and reporting hotel revenues, ensuring accuracy and completeness across all income streams. This role also manages the hotel's daily cash operationsincluding deposits, house banks, and petty cashupholding Four Seasons' rigorous financial standards and internal controls.
What You Will Do
Collect and audit daily paperwork from all revenue centers to ensure compliance with Four Seasons' Internal Controls and hotel policies.
Accurately record and verify all Room, Food & Beverage, and Banquet revenues.
Prepare and distribute the Daily Revenue Report for hotel leadership review.
Reconcile guest, city, and deposit ledgers, promptly identifying and resolving discrepancies.
Verify credit card settlements, update daily reconciliations, and monitor outstanding balances.
Audit and control all House Funds and Banks, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with established policies.
Prepare daily deposits, petty cash disbursements, and the Daily Cash Report.
Conduct regular House Bank audits, reporting any discrepancies immediately.
Monitor and report taxable revenue activity and ensure proper documentation for allowances, credits, and voids.
Assist with monthly balance sheet reconciliations and support the month-end closing process.
What You Bring
At least 2 years of Accounting or Finance experience, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort.
Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills.
Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal control procedures.
Strong time management skills : ability to multi-task, set priorities, and adjust to changing conditions. Willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to operate all computer equipment necessary to perform the job; knowledge of financial software preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work closely with other departments and communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues, guests, and external partners.
College education in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive computer-based tasks; minimal lifting (up to 15 lbs).
