job_description.job_card.job_descriptionPermanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler\n\n Patient Types : \n L&D, postpartum, Antepartum, Newborns, Infants 28 days old\n\n Level 2A Nursery - will care for sick babies\n\n Gyn-Surgicals / Mastectomy post-op - preferred experience - if candidate is not comfortable with these, other staff may be able to take\n\n Patient Ratios : \n Laboring : 1 : 2\n\n Couplets : 1 : 3-4\n\n Required Certifications : \n BLS, ACLS, NRP\n\n Required Education : \n Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing\n\n Skills required : \n EFM interpretation and intervention, adult and neonatal assessment skills\n\n Support on the Unit : \n CNA : none specific to L&D, o / c for facility 24 / 7\n\n Charge nurse : 1 in hospital covers all units\n\n Phlebotomy? Lab available, 24 / 7\n\n IV / VAT Team? No\n\n Centralized Fetal Monitoring\n\n Resource Nurse : Primary nurse, manager, or charge nurse\n\n RT : Available and o / c facility wide\n\n Hospitalist : In house (Med / Surg)\n\n Nursery located behind Nurses station\n\n Charting System : Epic\n\n Floating Required : \n Med / surg - as helping hands / in the role of a CNA\n\n Could be floated within scope of practice and below\n\n Orientation : (facility and unit)\n Per experience-traveler nurse, typically 1 week\n\n Scheduling : \n Weekend rotation : every other weekend\n\n Will they be on call? If so, what is that schedule? LOC per census and LOC rotation\n\n Holiday Expectations : 3 holidays scheduled, 1 on-call, rotating schedule\n\n Approval of time off? 2 gold tickets / year and request off before next schedule is posted\n\n Other notes : \n Scrub Color : Hospital provided scrubs\n\n Free Parking?
