Director - Surgical Services

JOB PURPOSE : Responsible for assuming administrative responsibility for all areas / functions of the Perioperative Services Division on a 24 / 7 basis including, but not limited to, pre-procedure testing, Pre-Op, Main OR, Ambulatory and Minor Surgery, PACU, GI Lab, Sterile Processing, and Central Service. Develops policies and procedures as well as the quality improvement programs for areas of responsibility. Develops the capital and operating budgets for Perioperative Services Division. Ensures areas of responsibility are appropriately staffed, including interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED : Bachelors degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or another related field required. Masters degree strongly preferred. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED : Five (5) years experience and three (3) years of progressive management / leadership experience is required. MINIMUM LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW : If a Registered Nurse, must have current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC / eNLC Multistate License. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS : Bachelors degree in Nursing preferred. Masters degree in Nursing or related field preferred. Certification in area of clinical specialty is desired.
