Summary
The Production Manager position is responsible for all manufacturing processes in the plant, reporting of all KPI's, production and labor reporting, and assigned projects. The role leads, motivates, and provides resources and knowledge to process work teams to ensure products are manufactured in a cost-efficient and timely manner while following EH&S and quality standards. The person will develop processes to maximize safety, quality, productivity, and profitability while meeting customer service standards. They will be responsible for training and development of staff and maintaining a positive climate for employee relations. The role requires a hands-on approach, including willingness to build products and troubleshoot when issues arise.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Camfil's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, performance appraisals, addressing complaints, resolving problems, and disciplining employees.
- Performs prescribed quality procedures in accordance with plant quality system requirements.
- Assigns production hours for each department based on workload.
- Reviews the accuracy of production hours for job and standard cost purposes.
- Order shop tools.
- Reviews and coordinates job assignments and distributes to Production Supervisors and Scheduler.
- Report manufacturing status daily to Plant Manager.
- Issues written and oral instructions.
- Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
- Addresses errors and complaints.
- The role may require sitting, standing, and walking; occasionally lifting and moving up to 25 pounds.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned. This list is not all-inclusive and may be expanded as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education : Associate's Degree or equivalent, or two to four years of manufacturing production leadership experience preferred.Strong team leadership, interpersonal, people management, and communication skills.Comprehensive experience in production planning and workflow optimization.Strong command of production systems including ERP, MRP, and MES.Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality assurance, and supply chain dynamics.Familiarity with automation technologies.Proficient in setting and monitoring KPIs.Background in budgeting and scheduling.Skilled in root cause analysis and driving process improvement initiatives.Analytical with troubleshooting abilities for production and quality issues.Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments and manage shifting priorities.Commitment to workplace organization and safety, including OSHA safety certifications.Well-versed in EHS and regulatory requirements.Strong reading, writing, and oral communication skills.Technical math skills required.Strong reasoning ability and the ability to solve practical problems with various inputs; ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.Demonstrated ability to work in a high-performance, employee-involved, continuous improvement culture.Proficient with PCs, Microsoft Suite, timekeeping, and other production data management systems.Work Environment
Exposed to office, warehouse, and plant environments. PPE may be required in certain areas. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the facilities.
