Description : Job Summary :

An Electronic Technician performs duties to maintain production equipment and quality by ensuring the operation of machinery and equipment.

Responsibilities :

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems for extrusion and thermoforming equipment, including heaters, VFDs, motors, sensors, and PLCs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on high-voltage systems, control panels, and safety interlocks.
  • Support production by diagnosing downtime issues quickly and implementing long-term solutions.
  • Work closely with mechanical technicians and operators to ensure machines are running safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and company safety standards (including lockout / tagout and arc flash safety).
  • Document work performed and assisted in updating PM schedules within Amiability to read and design circuit diagrams.

Requirements :

Required skills and competencies :

  • PLC Programming & Troubleshooting Certification (Allen-Bradley or Siemens preferred)
  • Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) & Motor Control Training
  • CCST (Certified Control Systems Technician) or equivalent instrumentation training
  • NFPA 70E – Electrical Safety in the Workplace
  • OSHA 30 – General Industry
  • Preferred Skills

  • Experience in plastics manufacturing (extrusion and thermoforming)
  • Knowledge of thermocouple calibration, heater banks, vacuum systems, and pneumatic / hydraulic controls.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems for work order management.
  • Cross-training in mechanical systems (pneumatics, hydraulics, millwright skills) a plus.
  • Shift Coverage

  • Must be able to work in a 24 / 7 manufacturing environment with rotating or assigned shifts.
  • Availability for occasional overtime, weekend, or holiday shifts to support production demands.
  • Participation in an on-call rotation for urgent troubleshooting and maintenance needs.
  • Flexibility to support plant shutdowns, equipment startups, and project installations outside of regular hours.
