ITS Project Manager (Full-Time, On-Site)

Location : Great Miami

Type : Full-Time / On-Site

A full-time ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) Project Manager is sought to oversee and manage all activities under a transportation maintenance and operations contract. This position serves as the primary point of contact and is responsible for the overall coordination, quality assurance, and successful delivery of all contract requirements.

The Project Manager ensures all maintenance and operational activities comply with established standards, policies, and procedures, maintaining consistent performance and communication with the client’s project representatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of all work performed under the contract and ensure adherence to project requirements.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the client’s Project Manager or designee.
  • Plan, organize, and manage maintenance and operational tasks as directed.
  • Supervise project staff and ensure proper training on contract policies, safety, and technical procedures.
  • Review progress, recommend improvements, and approve deliverables for the maintenance program.
  • Assist with developing specifications and standard operating procedures for ITS equipment.
  • Manage procurement of tools, spare parts, and materials required for operations.
  • Monitor budgets, spare parts inventory, and resource utilization to maintain cost control.
  • Track project progress and prepare monthly updates, cost summaries, and invoices.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and ensure all team members meet qualification and background requirements.
  • Conduct weekly coordination meetings with the client and prepare meeting minutes within five business days.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and agency personnel for maintenance, upgrades, and installations.
  • Attend construction and utility coordination meetings as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the client.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience managing ITS maintenance, asset maintenance, or infrastructure / facility maintenance projects.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent understanding of ITS, construction, and maintenance principles.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, PowerPoint, and scheduling applications.
  • Ability to create technical reports, project documentation, and invoices.
  • Must be FDOT Advanced Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) certified.
  • Must obtain ITSFM maintainer-level training within one month of contract start date.
  • Capable of being on-call 24 / 7 and coordinating real-time priorities.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance scheduling and equipment performance evaluation.
