Job Summary

Georgia Southwestern State University¿s College of Nursing and Health Sciences (CONHS) is seeking a qualified and passionate tenure track Assistant Professor, Graduate Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). This 12-month contract position supports our fully online, asynchronous Graduate Nursing Program. This position is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a virtual learning environment while also contributing on campus at least three days a week to deliver high-quality, student-centered education to future advanced practice nurses.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and facilitate graduate-level nursing courses in an asynchronous online format
  • Develop and revise course content to align with program outcomes and accreditation standards and has knowledge and compliance with University, CONHS, and agency policies.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback and academic support to students
  • Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and professional development.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, program assessment, and accreditation efforts
  • Engage in scholarly and service activities as appropriate to the role

Required Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree (DNP or PhD in Nursing or related field)
  • Certification in an advanced practice role (e.g., FNP)
  • Unencumbered Georgia RN license
  • Experience teaching in an online or distance education format
  • Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, D2L)
  • Strong written communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of classroom practices, teaching methodologies, assessment systems, and educational technology.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with asynchronous course design and delivery
  • Familiarity with online student engagement strategies and assessment tools
  • Record of scholarly activity or interest in research and publication
