Description : Purpose

To provide sales staff support in an efficient and accurate manner. This entails a high level of verbal and written communication with customers, vendors, and staff.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Customer interface via phone or email
  • Contact manufacturers for pricing
  • Enter vendor quotes
  • Enters sales orders, validating entry to customer purchase order
  • Runs open order reports
  • Follow up on open purchase orders
  • Answer phones and distribute faxes
  • Assist customers when possible or refers to appropriate sales associate.
  • Assists assigned sales associates with miscellaneous clerical or research tasks
  • Work with other departments as needed to solve issues

Nature and Scope

This position involves a high element of communication and clerical tasks. Customer service reps are responsible for supporting assigned sales staff and maintaining accurate records.

A majority of time will be spent in a busy office environment, sitting and using office equipment such as a computer and phone. This position is not eligible for remote work accommodations.

Requirements :

Background Experience and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred.
  • The ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Computer skills, including the ability to type 30 words per minute; and use Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook.
  • Email at a highly proficient level.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills.
  • The ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • Willingness to continue development to self-enhance personal performance.
