The Position
We are looking for a Solar Project Manager responsible for :
Independent and autonomous management of solar construction projects of various sizes and complexities from pre-construction to project closeout using company processes and procedures, meeting or exceeding planned profitsUnderstanding Project Management processes and tools including : project scheduling, financial reporting and budget management, project communications plan, contracts, BIM tools, and other project-related processesManage all financial aspects of projectsListen to client and subcontractor concerns, identify issues, and respond appropriatelyProvide conceptual information to groups to illustrate ideas and conceptsFacilitate and lead productive / effective meetingsPrepare project baseline schedules and schedule updates; substantiate delays and impacts as appropriateTrack project budget vs. actuals and manage mitigationTrack field productivity (estimate vs. actual) and take corrective actions to protect labor budget and project profitOwn project safety, including weekly audits and incident investigation and reporting; contribute to the company safety cultureIdentify project impacts and delays, provide timely notifications per contract documents, and prepare detailed documentation for claimsProblem solve, identify root causes, develop solutions, and implement themUnderstand complex project concepts and manage for successOvernight travel 3-4 days per week throughout the MidwestThe Location
Home office location in Waukesha, WI, with projects varying throughout the Midwest; willingness to travel to job sites as neededThe Candidate
5+ years' experience in the Solar IndustryBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or applicable equivalent training / experience; Geotechnical experience is a plusRobust knowledge of installation of all electrical systems, specifically PV / DC systemsEstimating takeoff capabilitiesEffective and professional communication, oral and writtenStrong problem-solving and time-sensitive decision-making abilities in complex situationsSelf-motivated, highly organized, detail-orientedValid Driver's License and satisfactory driving recordWhy Should You Apply?
