PEO Underwriting Manager

We currently have an exciting underwriting career opportunity as a PEO Underwriting Manager. This position is part of Aon's Underwriting Center of Excellence and supports Aon's PEO and Staffing vertical.

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from a US-based office.

What the day will look like

As a PEO Health Insurance Underwriting Manager, your day will be a blend of strategic analysis and collaboration, focused on developing tailored health insurance solutions for Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs). You'll work with both internal teams and external partners to deliver the best results for our clients.

  • Performs Senior level management duties.
  • During peak times may be required to assist team with meetings client SLAs
  • Assists UW team with escalated issues.
  • Attends and participates in meetings with management / leadership.
  • Leads and participates in internal committees and / or projects with management / leadership team as needed.
  • Assists with training of department staff members as needed.
  • Leads team meetings.
  • Provides performance feedback and annual review and evaluation of team members.
  • Acts independently to make decisions that are in the best interest of PEO.
  • Identifies operations gaps and works with manager and team for resolution.
  • Identifies new and efficient ways to do business through process improvement recommendations
  • Creates, updates, and maintains accurate and timely documentation of Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assists with department new hire checklist duties as assigned.
  • May have extensive interaction with internal team to identify, research and resolve problems.
  • Manages daily work within established guidelines and receives general instructions on newly introduced assignments. Other duties as assigned

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Strong leadership skills and high attention to detail.
  • Strong business communication skills.
  • Ability to manage quote reviews and escalations.
  • Manage reporting and team projects.
  • 5+ years working in the PEO underwriting industry or underwriting health within the insurance industry
  • Education :

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, actuarial science, or equivalent industry experience preferred

    Pay Transparency Laws :

    The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

    This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
