System Administrator

At Independent Software, our mission is to support secure and resilient IT environments that enable critical operations and protect national interests. As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining IT infrastructure that supports both classified and unclassified operations. You'll provide hands-on support for system implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance while ensuring the reliability, integrity, and performance of server, storage, network, and mobile device environments. This position requires you to be adept in supporting both UNIX and Windows systems, handling Tier 1 and Tier 2 escalations, and optimizing system operations. Your work will directly contribute to the stability and efficiency of mission-essential IT systems.

Key Responsibilities :

• Support the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems
• Manage daily activities of system configuration and operations
• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) technical support for diagnosing and resolving system issues
• Assist users with access to and use of IT systems and resources
• Monitor and resolve issues related to client / server / storage / network / mobile devices
• Handle escalations and communicate system status updates to internal customers and agency management
• Conduct performance optimization and capacity analysis
• Provide detailed analysis and resolution for hardware and software issues
• Troubleshoot complex IT problems and remain involved in the full resolution process
• Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems
• Install, update, and secure operating system software
• Maintain network component integrity and implement system enhancements to improve reliability and performance
