About The Position

Job Title : Certified Surgical Technician (CST) Job Specialty : General Surgery Job Duration : Shift : 7 : 00 AM - 3 : 30 PM Guaranteed Hours : Experience : Two years of recent scrubbing experience in an acute-care facility preferred License : State License Required Certifications : BLS (AHA), Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) within one year of hire (must be maintained throughout employment) Must-Have : - Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program (Accreditation Review Committee / Education in Surgical Technology) - Individuals trained in the armed forces will be considered Job Description : - Deliver safe, effective, and quality patient-family-centered care in the operating room - Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures - Understand the procedure being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon - Vigilantly maintain the sterile field - Support the mission, vision, and values of the organization - Perform tasks in a physically demanding, high-stress environment - Be prepared for potential exposure to blood and body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, radiation, and repetitive motions - Push and pull heavy objects; must be able to utilize the full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients - Exhibit manual and finger dexterity and hand / eye coordination - Stand and walk for extensive periods - Lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds - Ensure corrected vision and hearing are within normal range - Be on call 2-3 nights per week and work every 3rd weekend Employee Benefits : - Full-time medical benefits - Health savings care plan available - Dental benefits - Vision benefits - Life insurance (short and long-term disability)
