Job Title : Children\'s Services Manager
Department : Children\'s Services Department, Naper Boulevard Library

The Children\'s Services Manager provides leadership and management for the development, implementation, and evaluation of Children\'s Services. This role oversees all related activities, including collection management, children\'s programming, reference services, and community partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Provides operational direction and hands-on leadership to the Children\'s Services Department.
- Provides supervision, motivation, coaching, and discipline that leads to staff success; hires and trains new staff.
- Develops a high-performing team with diverse skills; encourages collaboration and knowledge sharing to foster a supportive environment.
- Delegates work assignments, grants authority to work independently, sets expectations, and monitors activities.
- Models best practice behavior in customer service, accountability, communication, collaboration, and adaptability; establishes clear expectations for staff.
- Collaborates with Leadership Team to develop and implement goals and recommend changes to the department.
- Ensures the effectiveness of all children\'s services, programming, and collections through ongoing evaluation to meet community needs; prepares statistics and reports as needed.
- Ensures staff develop knowledge and skills to provide programs that meet community needs.
- Oversees collection maintenance including selection recommendation, weeding, replacement and analysis; collaborates with Collection Services and other departments to ensure relevance and quality of materials.
- Identifies and develops outreach and partnership opportunities within the community; encourages staff participation.
- Functions as lead in charge of building issues while on duty as Person-In-Charge.
- Observes safety and security procedures and ensures staff training.
- Attends professional development opportunities.
- Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Master of Library and Information Science degree (ALA accredited).Leadership and management experience preferred.Minimum three years of library-related experience.Bilingual proficiency a plus.Benefits
