We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our team at our Nationwide Aerospace Manufacturing Company. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and precision of our aerospace components through the use of all quality instruments and other advanced inspection techniques. This position requires a strong background in aerospace manufacturing, CMM operation, and a thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine inspection requirements
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to evaluate part conformance
- Experience with all quality instrumentation (Micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc)
- Develop and implement CMM inspection programs for various aerospace components
- Perform first article inspections and generate detailed reports
- Conduct in-process and final inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications
- Identify and document non-conformances, defects, or quality issues
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to resolve quality-related issues
- Maintain accurate inspection records and generate comprehensive quality reports
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inspection processes and efficiency
- Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices in aerospace quality control
- Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and other relevant quality management systems
- Perform calibration and verification of measuring equipment as required
- Contribute to the development and improvement of quality control procedures and work instructions
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quality Inspector in the aerospace industryCoordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) is a big plus.Expert knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and applicationsStrong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes and quality control standardsExperience with CMM software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar platforms (is a big plus)In-depth knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and other relevant quality management systemsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standardsAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software
