Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking an Estimator to support precision gear manufacturing projects. This role is responsible for creating accurate sales estimations using customer-supplied prints and specifications, while serving as a key liaison between vendors, customers, and internal teams. The Estimator will play a critical part in pricing, quoting, and maintaining strong supplier and customer relationships in a culture-focused work environment.
In this role, you will
- Prepare production quotes for blanks, grinding, milling, drilling, hobbing, shaper cutting, and gear grinding
- Analyze customer quote requests (usage, batch size, etc.) and determine sequence of operations
- Establish target pricing levels and assist with negotiations as needed
- Create process routings for internal and external operations
- Apply time study methods to estimate cycle times for internal operations
- Manage vendor relationships and provide timely, creative solutions for supplier / customer needs
- Communicate quote status to customers and support project discussions
- Ensure compliance with ITAR regulations and maintain required documentation
Requirements
5+ years of experience in precision-machined component manufacturingKnowledge of machining operations (heat treat, turning, milling, drilling, grinding, etc.)Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with inspection and measurement techniquesWorking knowledge of materials, material characteristics, and thermal treatment of steelGear experience / knowledge a plus but not requiredProficiency in Microsoft Excel for database creation and managementAbility to efficiently communicate technical information and collaborate across teamsAttention to detail, confidentiality, and strong organizational skillsBenefits
