Job Description :

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team and provide high-quality speech and language therapy services to students in the [school district or school name]. The SLP will assess, diagnose, and treat students with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. This role will involve working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other school professionals to develop and implement individualized therapy plans aimed at improving students' communication skills and overall educational experience.

Key Responsibilities :

Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in students.

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans (IEPs) to address student needs, in collaboration with the educational team.

Provide direct therapy services to students, focusing on speech articulation, language comprehension, expressive language, fluency, and voice disorders.

Work with teachers to support students in the classroom, providing strategies and recommendations to promote communication development.

Monitor and document student progress, making necessary adjustments to therapy plans as needed.

Communicate with parents, caregivers, and school staff to update them on student progress and suggest ways to reinforce speech and language skills at home and in the classroom.

Provide training and resources to school staff on strategies to support students with speech and language needs.

Stay up-to-date on the latest research, techniques, and best practices in speech and language pathology.

Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure appropriate and effective services are provided.

Qualifications :

Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology from an accredited institution.

Massachusetts State Licensure as a Speech and Language Pathologist.

Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.

Experience working with children in an educational or clinical setting is preferred.

Strong knowledge of speech and language disorders, as well as evidence-based therapeutic techniques.

Ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other school personnel.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping students reach their full potential.

Ability to work independently and manage a caseload of students.

Additional Requirements :

Background check and fingerprinting as required by Massachusetts state regulations.

Ability to work in compliance with federal, state, and district policies and regulations.

Completion of any required professional development or certifications as mandated by the district.

Compensation and Benefits :

Full-Time Exempt Salary Position with salary compensation based on candidate experience. AKFCS also provides a comprehensive benefits package which includes the following :
