The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at Boston Children’s Hospital is a 22-bed facility dedicated to the care of children with a wide range of critical illness diagnoses including respiratory failure (severe breathing problems), sepsis (serious infection), nutritional failure, poisoning, congenital anomalies, and life-threatening complications of metabolic diseases and endocrine disorders.
Key Responsibilities :
- Caring for patients with respiratory insufficiency and / or failure, diabetic ketoacidosis, asthma, heart failure, sepsis, metabolic crisis, and those experiencing medically fragile / technology dependent co-morbidities.
- Providing care to medical patients with life-threatening and / or potentially life threatening conditions across the age continuum.
- Working in a collaborative environment with opportunities for both learning and career growth.
- Practicing family centered care in an ICU environment.
- 40 hours / week, rotating days / nights and every third weekend.
- Start date for this position is Winter 2025
Minimum Qualifications
Education : BSN required
Experience :
A minimum of 1 year pediatric experience, ICU preferred.Adult ICU or equivalent experience with mechanically ventilated patients strongly considered.Pediatric experience preferred but not required.Licensure / Certifications :
