Responsibilities Work in a Med / Surg Telemetry Float unit within an acute care hospital Care for patients with diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, cellulitis, ETOH withdrawal, kidney issues, dementia, and CVA Float between all Med / Surg, PCU, ED boarding, and temporary bed locations as needed Unit has 32 beds with typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 5 : 1, increasing to 6 : 1 during inpatient boarding Night shifts from 7 : 00 pm to 7 : 30 am with every other weekend required Uses Epic EMR; Epic training provided Nurses are responsible for reviewing telemetry strips Drips managed include heparin, Cardizem, insulin (not DKA protocol), and narcotics (comfort measures) Charge nurse and nurse aides (4-5 per shift) provide support 24 / 7 hospitalist, RT, and pharmacy support available No vent management required Provide close observation through use of camera monitoring Professional scrubs in any color, pattern, or style permitted Holiday coverage is required based on assignment Unit-specific orientation provided Team structure includes charge nurse and nurse aides Travelers are supported by cross-shift IV / SWAT teams First time travelers will be considered for this position Candidates cannot have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year Requirements Active WA or compact RN license required at the time of consideration Minimum 2 years of Med / Surg or Telemetry nursing experience Current BLS and ACLS certifications required NIHSS certification preferred, but not required Ability to safely manage IV drips and telemetry responsibilities Completion of Epic EMR training Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-623685.
