Position Summary :

The Shipping & Utility Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the shipping operations and utility support within a manufacturing facility. This role ensures timely and accurate shipment of products, manages utility services and personnel, and collaborates with other departments to optimize workflow efficiency and maintain high standards of safety and quality.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities :

• Ensure all policies and rules are enforced.
• Ensure that the warehouses operate at peak efficiency — with customer satisfaction the primary goal — by supervising, organizing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operational
• Shipping Operations Management : Supervise all shipping activities, including scheduling, packaging, labelling, and dispatching goods to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
• Team Leadership : Lead and train shipping and utility staff, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability.
• Inventory Coordination : Work closely with inventory and production teams to ensure proper documentation and tracking of outgoing materials and finished products.
• Utility Oversight : Manage utility functions such as facility maintenance, waste management, and support services to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Compliance & Safety : Ensure all shipping and utility processes comply with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
• Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities for process improvement in shipping and utility operations, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Reporting : Prepare and maintain records, reports, and documentation related to shipping, utility usage, and staff performance.
• Problem Resolution : Address and resolve any issues or delays in shipping or utilities, coordinating with relevant teams to minimize disruptions.
• Actively participate in interviews, performance reviews and job advancement discussions
• Demonstrate and enforce following safe work practices and policies to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Manage NetSuite transactions to ensure departmental efficiency.
• Accountable for daily and monthly logistics metrics
• Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process, being directly involved with improving warehouse efficiencies, reducing costs, identifying unfavorable trends, and taking timely corrective actions.
• Resolve personnel problems as necessary in conjunction with the Human Resources department.
• Keep a positive, energetic, can-do attitude when representing the company to employees, customers, and visitors.
• Ability to climb, walk, do light lifting, sit for long periods, or stand for long periods.
• Organized, analytical, creative, and adaptive in your approach to problem solving.
• Assist in troubleshooting supply chain issues and seeking collaborative input to find solutions.
• Knowledge in Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
• Successfully track, report, manage and move projects from start to finish.
• Participates in internal and external training and development opportunities as required.
• Performs other duties as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position. These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required :

Work Relationship and Scope :

Reports to the Plant Manager. Works closely with all other colleagues at FyterTech to accomplish established goals. Works daily with highly confidential business and employee information.

Direct Reports :

The warehouse operators and utility positions at American reports to this position.

Working Conditions :

Work is performed within the normal FyterTech setting. Prolonged and frequent mental and visual concentration required. Periodic stressful situations in response to multiple priorities within established deadlines. Work hours are generally during normal business hours, as both scheduled and unscheduled work hours may arise. Must be able to bend, twist, turn and lift / move up to fifty pounds.
