Formance is on a mission to unlock the next generation of financial applications by solving todays hardest problems in the space with full flexibility and programmability to build unique and sophisticated financial products, with the most effective financial services providers. Our platform was built with a distinctive angle from the ground up, focusing on the flow of funds first to help businesses realize their product visions on a solid financial foundation.

Starting with an Open Source Ledger (i.e. a database for financial transactions), were building a comprehensive suite of modern financial backend modules, including native and automated reconciliation, workflow engines, and connectors with various financial services providers - e.g. Stripe, Adyen, Modulr, Wise, Atlar. This unique approach has made us the trusted financial backend for leading SaaS companies and financial institutions like Booksy, Doctolib, and Liberis, along with many others worldwide. Our success stems from the trust in our open-source foundation, the high level of programmability of our solutions, and our software-first approach, moving beyond traditional payment business models.

Formances team previously built Selencys home-grown financial backend, which processes over 50M in GMV annually, and created Alsid, a cybersecurity company, from inception to acquisition.

Were a team of 23, growing to 35+ soon. The Engineering / Product team is a 14-people team. The business team is therefore still small and is led by our CEO Anne-Sybille, who used to be the COO at a high-growing cybersecurity startup, selling to the largest corporations (e.g. Barclays, Sanofi, Toyota).

Were all about customer experience, product, and strong expertise. Becoming the financial backend for major SaaS platforms is about trust and proving our products value in mission-critical environments.

What Youll Do

Your responsibilities will include :

Sourcing and qualifying new leads across target segments (SaaS platforms, vertical SaaS, fintechs, etc.)

Researching and identifying high-potential prospects, understanding their use cases and challenges

Crafting thoughtful, personalized outbound messages and campaigns (emails, LinkedIn, video, etc.)

Collaborating closely with the founders and AEs to feed and refine our messaging, and iterate on what works

Running initial discovery calls and handoffs, becoming the first voice of Formance in many conversations

Helping structure a repeatable and scalable outbound motion, turning ad hoc tactics into a proven playbook

Logging and analyzing your outreach and results to continuously optimize the process

This isnt your typical plug-and-play sales role with a rigid playbook and ultra-automated CRM workflows (though we do use Attio, and it works well). If youre looking for predictability, this might not be the right fit. But if you love reaching out to new people, navigating complex conversations, and being part of something you can truly influence : this role is made for you.

Youll be selling to engineering and product teams, often working with key decision-makers. While our journey started with our open-source ledger (which still drives strong inbound interest from around the world), were now stepping up our game with strategic outbound campaigns to tap into high-potential markets.

Who You Are

Over 1+ year of experience in a sales role for a technical product or in product and / or solution engineering at an early-stage startup (seed to Series B) and / or at an established Payment Services Provider (e.g. Stripe, Paypal, Adyen).

Proven intellectual curiosity, drive, and impact in fields beyond sales.

Fluent in English (additional proficiency in French or Spanish is a plus).

Strong enthusiasm for the early stages of co-creating a product and shaping Formances future.
