Position : Temporary Assistant Food & Beverage Manage r ( possible temp to hire)

Department : Food & Beverage

Location : Luxury Hotel Property – New York, NY

Pay : $35 per hour

About the Role :

Goodkind Hospitality Staffing Agency is seeking a Temporary Assistant Food & Beverage Manager (preferably with Hotel or Fine Dining experience) to  support the operations of a luxury hotel’s food and beverage outlets. This position plays a key role in enhancing the guest experience by ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, maintaining brand standards, and supporting the Food & Beverage Manager in achieving financial and service goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing daily operations across all food and beverage outlets.
  • Communicate effectively with the Food & Beverage Manager, team members, and other departments.
  • Conduct staff performance evaluations, implement corrective actions when necessary, and support team development.
  • Create and manage departmental schedules to ensure proper staffing levels based on business needs.
  • Oversee guest requests and special needs, including allergies and specialty amenities.
  • Coordinate event-specific functions, including menu planning and room configuration.
  • Manage vendor relationships, purchase orders, and inventory control.
  • Ensure compliance with all food sanitation, health, and safety regulations.
  • Handle guest concerns promptly and professionally to maintain high satisfaction levels.
  • Participate in leadership meetings (Labor, Budget, etc.) and assist with financial reporting and forecasting.
  • Collaborate with other departments as needed, especially during high business volumes.

Qualifications

Essential :

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to multitask and remain composed under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in POS and PMS systems, as well as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Basic financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and labor management.
  • Flexible schedule availability (AM / PM, weekends, holidays).
  • Professional, positive, and guest-focused demeanor.
  • Preferred :

  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent vocational training.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a similar supervisory or management role.
  • Previous hotel or luxury property experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing a large and / or unionized workforce is a plus.
