The Philadelphia Department of Planning and Development acts to coordinate the city's planning, zoning, housing, and development functions to promote the economic health of all of Philadelphia's neighborhoods and the city as a whole.
With oversight from the Program Manager of Development Services, the Project Coordinator position is a management support role responsible for supporting both public and private real estate development projects in Philadelphia, with a focus on supporting the administration of the city's inclusionary housing program. The Project Coordinator applies project management skills, including customer service, policy research, data analysis, strategic planning, and public outreach, to various assignments to support the entire Department of Planning and Development.
Essential functions include project coordination, customer service, and education, as well as reporting and other duties as assigned. Competencies, knowledge, skills, and abilities include excellent written, verbal, and digital communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation; attention to detail; a positive, collaborative attitude and desire to learn and teach others about the city's efforts to encourage real estate development and affordable housing; and willingness to undertake any assignments geared toward meeting the city's goal no matter how big or small.
Education : Completion of a bachelor's degree program at an accredited college or university with major course work in planning, economics, urban studies, or a closely related field.
Experience : Two years of experience in affordable housing programming and compliance, real estate development, planning, administration, or a related field. OR any equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be acceptable by the Office of Human Resources which includes a bachelor's degree.
Salary Range : $60,000-$70,000

The successful candidate must be a city of Philadelphia resident within six months of hire.
