Job Details

Registered Nurse position in PACU / Preop specialty at Los Alamos Medical Center.

Role involves working in Surgery department with 36 weekly guaranteed hours and every other weekend / on call coverage.

Float requirements limited to shared position with Preop, no expectation to float elsewhere.

Patient population primarily adult with occasional ENT cases once a month.

Common diagnoses / treatments include appendectomy and gallbladder procedures.

Professional personality fit required.

Dress code allows any scrub color; open-toed shoes and unapproved fingernails are not allowed.

Job Requirements

Certification / Licensure to work as an RN in New Mexico required.

Prior PACU experience required; Preop experience preferred.

Must have 2+ years of experience.

All clinical staff must be fingerprinted before hire and provide documentation that the check is being processed.

Travelers may start on a 14-day waiver while waiting on results but must be supervised.

Schedule Information

Shift details include 36 weekly guaranteed hours.

Weekend hours every other weekend with on call coverage.

Call requirement : once notified of a case, must be at work within 30 minutes.

Unit Specific Information

Unit is Surgery department, specifically PACU / Preop.

Shared position with Preop, no expectation to float elsewhere.

Patient population primarily adult with occasional ENT cases.

Common diagnoses include appendectomy and gallbladder surgeries.

Patient ratios 1 : 1 or 1 : 2.

EHR systems : CQI, Medhost.
