Overview
Surgical Scheduler II, Structural Heart Disease and Center for Aortic Health Programs at ChristianaCare. The Structural Heart Disease and Center for Aortic Health Programs are part of the Heart and Vascular Health team in Newark, Delaware. The program offers multidisciplinary, minimally invasive treatments for cardiovascular patients and collaborates with interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, noninvasive cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and nurse coordinators to support patient evaluation and care.

- Monday through Friday from 7 : 30am to 4 : 00pm
Duties / Responsibilities
Coordinate all aspects of scheduling for structural heart consults and procedures, including pre-operative and post-operative tests and appointments.Collaborate with cardiac and vascular surgery teams to ensure post-procedure follow-ups and imaging are efficiently planned.Enter case details into Surginet (case names, relevant ICD-10 codes, resources, equipment, time frames, and durations).Coordinate resources and staffing with departments or vendors for special or routine cases; manage urgent or last-minute additions and communicate changes to patients, families, and stakeholders.Notify patients and referring providers about testing and procedural dates; act as a liaison with the heart team for evaluations and consultations.Arrange pre-operative testing and maintain a comprehensive patient database to ensure all preoperative clearances and tests are completed.Ensure medical records are prepared and available for consults at the structural heart clinic; support clinic hours by coordinating with staff for optimal patient evaluation and flow.Maintain updated patient records with test results; engage in performance improvement initiatives within the clinic.Handle patient call backs as directed by coordinators or providers; provide backup support for phones, front desk, and supervisory roles as needed; report unsafe conditions promptly.Daily interactions with physicians, their offices, departments, patients, and families.Compensation / Benefits

High School Graduate or GED required.Minimum of two years related medical office experience with knowledge of surgical scheduling for multiple providers.An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.Strengths and Qualities
