The Blue Porch – Kitchen Team Member
The Kitchen Team Member at The Blue Porch is responsible for all of the duties required in the Back of House to create great food and service experiences. The Kitchen Team Member delivers well executed recipes through food prep and cooking that meet the restaurant’s standards to delight the guests. The Kitchen Team Member assembles dishes to expedite complete orders so the Service Team can deliver complete orders to our guests. The Kitchen Team Member washes dishes. The Kitchen Team Member, in partnership with the leadership team, ensures standards are always met so that our kitchens are spotlessly clean, safe, well run and deliver well executed dishes.
Essential Duties
- Responsible for meeting the restaurant’s standards and cooking recipes to exact specifications
- Prepares and produces menu items in various kitchen stations, meeting all established kitchen standards and recipe specifications to provide high quality and well executed food for guests
- Communicates timing with other stations to ensure all items are ready at the same time for each order
- Cleans and organizes walk-in coolers, food production areas, equipment, and general kitchen areas
- Washes dishes as needed and according to established practices and procedures ensuring safety and sanitary standards are met
- Assembles and expedites accurate and complete orders for the Service Team
- Properly and safely stores food and chemicals in accordance with Meritage, HACCP, OSHA, and sanitation guidelines
- Organizes food production by assisting in hanging tickets for fellow Kitchen Team Members
- Assists in receiving and putting away deliveries
- Completes all required training for the role
- Trains new Kitchen Team Members as directed by the leadership team
- Other duties as assigned
