NC Pediatric Dentistry aims to provide excellent dental treatment by going beyond the basics to ensure visits are safe, relaxed, informative and fun for children!

We are currently seeking a experienced Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our growing team!

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our orthodontists. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willing to Travel Required

Duties

  • Assist orthodontists during various procedures, including the placement and adjustment of braces and other orthodontic appliances.
  • Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring all instruments and materials are sterile and ready for use.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and care for orthodontic appliances.
  • Take medical imaging as required, ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis.
  • Maintain patient records using dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations and excellent patient experiences.
  • Monitor inventory levels of dental supplies and assist in ordering when necessary.

    • Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Orthodontic Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic is preferred.
  • Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures, particularly in orthodontics and pediatric dentistry.
  • Knowledge of infection control practices in a clinical setting is essential.
  • Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact positively with patients of all ages.
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • A commitment to providing compassionate patient care and maintaining confidentiality according to HIPAA standards.
