The Folder / Gluer Operator is responsible for operating some or all of the following equipment : Bobst Visionfold and Bobst Domino folder / gluers with the HHS touchscreen glue systems. This role is responsible for setting up, operating a wide variety of jobs, and troubleshooting the folder / gluer machines.

Essential Job Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Set-up, operate, and troubleshoot Bobst Folder Gluers.
  • Review job tickets and specifications to ensure materials are produced accordingly to customer requirements.
  • Must be able to set up the machine in the best way to get a quality finished product while meeting or exceeding estimated standards.
  • Must be able to train and communicate expectations for the packer to ensure accuracy of product counts, and quality, are meeting customer specifications.
  • Inspect finished product for quality defects and make adjustments to machine settings as needed.
  • Ability to do daily, weekly and monthly maintenance on equipment.
  • Along with setting up and operating, packing and feeding as needed.
  • Collaborate with CAD Designer on projects and designs as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent industry related experience and training.
  • Two year of folder / gluer experience in the printing industry preferred.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills to appropriately interpret and relay production instructions.
  • Print IQ production system or similar production software preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail for Quality Standard Inspections.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read and measure with a ruler, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Fluent in English, verbal, and written.
