American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level III Neonatal ICU night shift position in California, requiring a CA RN license, BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Level III NICU within an acute care hospitalUnit has 26 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1 : 2 or 1 : 1Primary patient population includes premature infants, sepsis, surgical cases such as gastroschisis, and occasional ventilated patientsNICU RNs titrate drips including dopamine, dobutamine, versed, and fentanylRNs are responsible for telemetry monitoring in an open bay areaEquipment includes oscillators, nasal CPAP, giraffe bassinets, atom incubators, and radiant warmersCerner is used for chartingShift is 12-hour nights, starting between 7 : 00-7 : 30 PMWeekend shifts are required every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)Holiday coverage requires one major and one minor holidayFloating is required to the Nursery and Pediatrics (sister unit), with Pediatrics being a low acuity 12-bed unitNo call or on-call requirementsNICU RNs attend high-risk deliveries in Labor & Delivery as part of daily dutiesFull-time in-unit neonatologist and respiratory therapy support is available 24 / 7No nurse aids are present in the NICUCharge nurse is free of assignment and covers both NICU and PediatricsOrientation includes three NICU shifts with a preceptor and additional hours in Nursery and PediatricsNavy blue scrubs are requiredFirst to float when requiredReturning candidates must not have been employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year in a direct employment capacity\n \n Requirements\n
Active, non-pending CA RN license is requiredMinimum three years of recent NICU nursing experience in a Level III NICUCurrent BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications requiredExperience titrating NICU drips including dopamine, dobutamine, versed, and fentanylTwo recent references : one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibilityCopy of driver’s license required for consideration\n Benefits\n
