When you join our team as a Nursing Home Administrator, you'll be the leader of a team who are committed to supporting our staff in their work of serving seniors and their families at the Monroe Skilled Nursing and Rehab Campus. You will bring a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospital Administration, Business Administration or Nursing Home Administration and be licensed, in good standing, as a Nursing Home Administrator in the state of Michigan. You will also have five years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a health care environment and be experienced in developing and administrating a budget (preferred). Lastly, you will be experienced in building high performing teams, leading quality and building healthy culture.
As a Nursing Home Administrator, you will :
- Carry out the budgets as approved by the Board of Directors by comparing actual operations to the budgets, ensuring that no expenditures in excess of budgeted amounts are made without the prior approval of the VP / Director Nursing Home Operations and that variances between actual and budget are identified and explained
- Develop and submit to the Director Nursing Home Operations for approval a plan of organization of the personnel and other matters concerned with the operation of the facility
- Engage with Home Office support departments on daily operations and projects
- Selection, employment, control and discharge of employees, and development and maintenance of Board of Directors’ approved personnel policies and practices
- Purchase and / or approve purchases, excluding purchases of capital assets, for the daily operation of the facility, such purchases to be within the dollar limits established
- Purchase capital assets, as required, as outlined in the approved budget for the facility and approved by the VP / Director Nursing Home Operations
- Maintain all properties in good repair and operating condition; enforce all rules and regulations issued by local, state and federal agencies as they relate to the use and enjoyment of the facilities by residents, staff and public
- Enforce all rules and regulations issued by local, state and federal agencies as they relate to the reimbursement for services rendered by the facility
- Cooperate with the medical staff and all those concerned with the rendering of professional services to assure that high quality care is rendered to the residents
- Performs proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to : daily leadership responsibilities, supervisory responsibilities, financial responsibilities, regulatory compliance, patient rights and safety and sanitation.
- Maintain professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
- Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and / or confidential information
- Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
- Present to the Board of Directors, via the VP / Director Nursing Home Operations, periodic reports reflecting the professional service and financial activities of the facility and prepare and submit special reports as required by the President or Board of Directors
- Whenever possible, consistent with duties and obligations to the facility, serve on social agency committees, maintain membership and attend meetings of nonprofit oriented health care organizations, serve on community-related projects, prepare publicity reports, maintain required continuing education study and licensure standards, and keep abreast of new trends in the field of gerontology
