Overview
The Data Analytics Discipline Leader will play a crucial role in leveraging data analytics to enhance a firm\'s capabilities in environmental services. This position involves working across multiple technical practice areas to support marketing and business development initiatives related to environmental data analytics. The leader collaborates with discipline leaders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and the environmental data analytics group to gather ideas and assess needs for data analytics. They coordinate efforts with multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, scientists, designers, draftsmen, and technicians to design and implement effective data analytics solutions. They also develop processes to evaluate ideas and initiatives within Business Technology aimed at developing analytics tools and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations of available data analytics technologies and platforms to analyze a wide range of environmental data across various applications (e.g., water quality assessments, remedial investigations, remedial actions, and operations and maintenance of treatment systems).
- Assist with the technical sales, design, and delivery of data analytics solutions tailored for environmental applications.
- Collaborate with local, national, and international technical teams in the fields of business technology and data analytics.
- Work across multiple technical practice areas to leverage data analytics research and development activities, thereby expanding and enhancing the firm\'s capabilities in environmental services.
- Support marketing and business development initiatives related to environmental data analytics.
- Collaborate and compile ideas : Engage with discipline leaders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and the environmental data analytics group to gather ideas and assess needs for data analytics.
- Coordinate efforts with multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, scientists, designers, draftsmen, and technicians to design and implement effective data analytics solutions.
- Establish processes : Develop processes to evaluate ideas and initiatives within Business Technology aimed at developing analytics tools and technologies.
- Manage intellectual property (IP) and research and development (R&D) investments : Review current data analytics projects, identify IP for protection, and prioritize R&D investments.
- Work with and grow data analytics practitioners who have the desire or aptitude to develop data analytics skills.
- Navigate the competitive landscape and meet the growing demand for advanced data analytics solutions in the environmental sector.
- Market engagement : Identify conferences, working groups, and other activities to enhance technical visibility and promote our capabilities to clients.
- Track business opportunities and clients : Identify and monitor business opportunities and client relationships for analytics.

Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor\'s degree. 7 years of related experience. Domestic and / or international travel may be required. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications :
Environmental Expertise : Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, chemical engineering, science or related discipline. Professional engineering (PE) license or registration as a Licensed Professional Geologist or professional scientist registration / certification or Master's degree in science or related discipline. Must have extensive understanding of environmental analytics. A degree in computer science or programming with environmental experience is also acceptable.Programming Proficiency : Proficient in programming languages such as Python or R.Software Development Experience : Experience in developing software solutions, dashboards, and other analytics tools.IP Management : Experience in managing intellectual property and options for doing so.Educational Interest : An interest in teaching and developing education and advancement opportunities for mid- and junior-level staff.Domestic and / or international travel may be required.
