Contract Specialist
Become part of our top-tier team at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. as a Contract Specialist of Sales and Service Operations Group. You will demonstrate your contract knowledge and legal expertise to manage sales and service contracts seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, evaluate, and prepare various sales and service-related documents, including RFQs, RFPs, Purchase Orders, Solicitation / Tenders (Bids), Service Contracts, and Sales / Service Master Agreements, ensuring compliance with corporate and divisional policies and procedures.
- Review full contract document packages, applying our checklist and understanding legal, financial, and business risks.
- Communicate potential exposures to company decision-makers effectively and efficiently to determine whether to accept or negotiate alternative terms.
- Understand commercial sales and service basics, such as pricing, delivery, incoterms, warranty, payment terms, book and ship activities, and revenue recognition.
- Collaborate with the legal department and other teams to propose alternative contract terms when customer and company terms differ.
- Apply the risk profile / assessment matrix across product families using corporate guidelines and raise concerns as necessary.
- Translate documents between English and Korean as required.
- Coordinate the tender / contract process, including document preparation and approval.
- Collaborate with various groups across Thermo Fisher Scientific, including sales, service, order management, legal, and finance.
- Maintain updated centralized contract files and a database of reviewed and negotiated agreements and bids.
- Support Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodology and participate in initiatives as needed.
- Be flexible and willing to take on additional duties as assigned.
Core Competencies & Qualifications
Preferred Bachelor's degree in the legal field or equivalent business experience.Minimum 3 years of experience in contract review / tender support.Over 5 years of professional experience is preferred.Proficient communication skills in both written and oral English and Korean.Good judgment balancing business and commercial needs with potential risks and customer requests.Detail oriented with a high degree of integrity, intensity, and involvement.Ability to work under pressure and tight schedules, both independently and as part of a team.Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative and integrative working style.Flexibility and a positive attitude towards change.Proficient with Microsoft Office; familiarity with CRM is a bonus.
