United Support Services, Inc., a La Jolla based Engineering and Technology company, has an exciting new opportunity and is currently looking to add a Warehouse Specialis t to our Warehouse team to support our facility on U.S. Naval Air Station in Lemoore, CA . This position will report to the Project Manager and will be responsible for performing various warehouse functions. USS offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits! Responsibilities
Receive, store, and issue hand tools, machine tools, dies, replacement parts, shop supplies and equipment, such as measuring devices, from the tool and gear locker roomKeep records of tools issued to and returned by workersSearch for lost or misplaced toolsPrepare periodic inventory or keeps perpetual inventory and requisitions stock as neededUnpack and store new equipment.Visually inspect tools or measures with micrometer for wear or defects and reports damaged or worn-out equipment to superiorsMay coat tools with grease or other preservative, using brush or spray gunMay attach identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment, using electric marking tool.Perform a variety of warehousing duties, which require an understanding of the establishment's storage planVerifying materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages; routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods; rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials; examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damageLocate and move materials, parts, and assemblies between storage and work site areas to expedite processing of goods, according to predetermined schedules and priorities and keeps related recordsReview production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine types, quantities, and availability of required material and priorities of customers ordersConfer with government personnel to determine materials ordering and overdue and to inform them of location, availability, and condition of materialsLocate and move materials to specified work areas, using cart, hand truck, or forkliftMay drive a government truck, van and forklift to transport material to and from various work sitesRecord quantity and type of materials distributed and on handMay update and maintain inventory records, using computer terminalAdditional tasks and duties may be assigned.Preferred Qualifications
Fork lift certificationKnowledge of WASP system (Inventory Central System)The physical job requirement involves, but is not limited to, walking, reaching, bending-over, concentration in the presence of noise, lifting items up to 60 lbs., and traversing narrow passageways, climbing ladders / stairs, and operating in confined warehouse spaces.
