Canine Training Specialist K9 Officer

Our canine group, under Allied Universal Enhanced Protection Services, is hiring a Canine Training Specialist a K9 Officer. The K9 Officer is accountable for the delivery of K9 Services for assigned sites. This role is responsible and accountable for assigned deployments and established patrols, and the care, custody, and control of a company-owned K9, to include but not limited to, proper housing and transportation standards. The K9 Officer must maintain K9 Team training standards (as established by Allied Universal), training coordination / administration, tracking K9 team financials, and vehicle maintenance records.
Hiring Full Time K9 Officer Now! This specific site / contract provides a company vehicle. Previous K9 experience not required, paid training provided. Hourly Pay Rate : $26.78. K9 Stipend provided. Required for this position minimum of two years one of these qualifications : military, law enforcement or corrections. Must be able to accommodate housing for K9 partner, they reside with you.
Responsibilities :
- Deploy and patrol with K9 at assigned work sites
- Conduct routine and prescribed searches utilizing the K9
- Maintain K9 Team training standards
- Administrative duties, such as but not limited to, cost tracking, accident / incident reports, daily activity logs, training logs, and vehicle maintenance logs
- Maintain an expansive and contemporary knowledge in K9 tactics
- Liaison with clients, senior corporate staff, and Allied Universal field management
- Develop and deliver K9 demonstrations to new clients and the general public
- National travel, as necessary
- Maintain K9 team certifications as required by Allied Universal
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalentLicensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employmentMust possess a valid Driver's License with at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record (no major violations within last 36 months, no more than 1 accident in last 24 months, no more than one minor moving violation in last 24 months), a minimum level of insurance as required by Company policy, and the ability to safely operate a vehicle requiredMust possess a minimum of two (2) years in one or more of the following :Service in any military branch (including Guard and Reserve)Law enforcement role, with a completed accredited Law Enforcement Academy (Municipal / State / Federal)Municipal or federal correctional officer, including attending a full-time accredited LE / Corrections Academy (must have enforcement responsibilities)Demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlinesHighly organized and able to keep management on track with required information available at all timesProficient and fully functional in all Microsoft Office applications and able to effectively utilize all available office management technology including PDAs, Nextel phones / pagers, mail merges, Access databases, Outlook, and Internet applicationsProfessional, articulate, and able to use good independent judgment and discretionOutstanding oral and written interpersonal communication skillsPreferred Qualifications :
Prior experience in dual purpose (patrol / detection) K9 handlingA combination of formal education, training, and skills possessed by an individual with related coursework and practical work experience in security, military and / or the law enforcement industryBenefits :
