Medical Surgical RN Job Details Location : Memphis, Tennessee 38104

Healthcare Setting : Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center

Unit : 8 NORTH (Medical Surgical)

Assignment Duration : 13-week travel contract

Start Dates : 11 / 17 / 2025 or 12 / 3 / 2025

Nursing Shift : Night, 3x12-hour shifts (19 : 00 - 07 : 00)

Hours per Week : 36

Patient Ratio : 1 : 7 (team nursing model with PCC, LPN support)

Weekend / On-Call : As needed

Travel Assignment Type : W2

Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical RN experience in a Level I Trauma Center or large hospital

At least 1 completed previous travel nursing assignment

Active Tennessee RN license or compact state license (NLC compliance)

Required certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Experience with Cerner charting system preferred

Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Residence must be at least 100 miles from facility

First-time travel nurses not accepted

Willing to work 2 of 3 major holidays if assignment overlaps with Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's

Medical Surgical RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a busy medical surgical unit

Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, initiate and maintain IVs, and perform telemetry monitoring

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams

Float between similar units and campuses within a 20-mile radius as needed

Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures

Participate in team nursing, supporting colleagues and promoting optimal patient outcomes
