Job Description & Requirements Specialty : ED - Emergency Department Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 21 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring a CT or compact RN license and ACLS, BLS, and TNCC certifications. Responsibilities Work in the Emergency Department of a short-term acute care hospital Level I Trauma Center with more than 1,000 beds Assignment is night shift, three 12-hour shifts per week (19 : 00-07 : 30) Average patient ratios are 1 : 6 for both days and nights Cross-training and floating to other hospital campuses may be required Travelers will not be assigned to trauma / rescue rooms, triage, or locked behavioral health units Block scheduling is possible Every other weekend is required Uses Epic for charting Standard ED nursing responsibilities with no assignment to trauma / rescue rooms, triage, or locked behavioral health units First-time travelers are not accepted No on-call requirements Travelers may be required to float within scope based on facility needs Pre-start and annual e-learning modules must be completed Return staff must be gone at least two years to be eligible as a traveler RTO (requested time off) greater than 7 days requires approval Local candidates within a 75-mile radius are not accepted Parking available for $125 per month Participation in emergency response activities and disasters is required Scrub color not specified Requirements Active CT or compact RN license required (pending license accepted if applied prior to start) ACLS, BLS, and TNCC certifications required At least 1.5 years emergency department experience in a similar large trauma center is required; 2 years preferred Previous trauma center experience at a large facility required Flu vaccination required with no declinations accepted COVID vaccine and booster required unless exempt for religious or medical reasons Cannot have prior issues on nursing license Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-622261.
