The Players Alliance, a national nonprofit organization with headquarters in Ft. Lee, NJ has a brand-new exciting opportunity for a talented and innovative Major Gifts Officer . Experience and expertise closing on $500,000- $1M+ in revenue annually, through individual giving, corporate sponsorships, annual fundraising campaigns, and major gifts. Understanding of New York City philanthropy and its fundraising community; excitement around attending in-person meetings in New York City and other areas.

TPA is looking for a seasoned and established metro NYC or Northern NJ based fundraiser with a verifiable and demonstrated record of success. The Major Gifts Officer is a fundraising role leading efforts to secure the resources that sustain and expand the organization's reach. Your mission will be to develop and execute a multi-year revenue strategy, growing our current annual revenue with a blend of traditional fundraising and creative and non-traditional and innovative entrepreneurial opportunities. This position requires a strategic mind, a passion for relationship-building, and a deep commitment to equity in youth sports programming. From fostering relationships with major donors to orchestrating impactful events, your work will directly fuel our ability to make a difference in families and communities nationwide.

• Identify and cultivate major gifts prospects and close six to seven figure gifts
• Oversee and grow a portfolio of six- and seven-figure major donors and prospects, monitoring performance toward achieving quarterly and annual financial goals with attention toward projections in retention and increased support
• Develop customized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans for different prospects and donors in the portfolio; develop growth strategies tailored to each revenue stream
• Proactively design and execute new and creative donor engagement strategies with an eye toward expanding key audiences, especially within the institutional, donor-advised and individual philanthropic community, among other potential strategic partners, leveraging volunteer opportunities, special events, and donor benefits as cultivation and engagement tools
• Create compelling funding opportunities and creative proposals aligning with the mission to drive revenue. Ensure that each proposal aligns with the priorities of donors and the organization while staying true to our mission and core values.
• Identify potential prospects, develop annual and long-term fundraising strategies, and actively cultivate and steward funding relationships.
• Proficiently navigate funder meetings, acting as a fundraiser both independently and alongside leadership and other departments.
• Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to optimize corporate partnerships by implementing recognition and storytelling strategies.
• Cultivate an organizational culture that recognizes and values the importance and impact of philanthropy.

You will have :

• Understanding of and lived experience in New York City and with its fundraising community; excitement around attending in-person meetings in New York City and other areas
• Demonstrated history of success in leading $1Million+fundraising initiatives, including securing donations from individuals, high net worth individuals, corporations, and business partners.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with a strong ability to tailor the most complex messages for different audiences in a manner that they can understand and relate to; influential public speaking experience in a variety of formats (virtual, in person, 1 : 1 and 1 : many) is a must
• Have a consistent track record of creating and executing effective fundraising strategies for diverse revenue streams
• The ability to leverage data, effective prospecting, and moves management best practices to maintain, grow, and enable a portfolio of highly engaged donors
• Have experience building a culture of philanthropy across an organization, effectively and thoughtfully partnering with staff, senior leadership, and the Board with the goal of increasing the visibility of an organization's work and securing long-term champions and funders
• Strong team management and people leadership skills with the proven ability to empower and lead team to achieve outcomes while fostering professional growth, learning, and holding teams accountable to goals

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience :

Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Minimum of 8-10 years of measured, proven, and demonstrable fundraising experience and success in effectively managing others

Experience and expertise closing on 5, 6, and 7 level gifts in revenue, through individual giving, corporate sponsorships, annual fundraising campaigns, or major gifts.

Advanced Proficiency in Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, or comparable software

CRM tools and the ability to run reports and synthesize information

Professional Maturity, Accountability, and the Demonstrated ability with project management tasks and ability to change gears as needed.

Ability to close virtual and face-to-face sales and sponsorships.

Ability to think strategically and critically with proven ability to manage multiple projects with varying priorities at one time.

Demonstrated professional and mature communication and interaction with staff, volunteers, sponsors, donors, and others to engage them toward the achievement of revenue goals.

Excellent written and oral communication and follow-up skills.
