Description
Manage a two-shift facility, leading the day to day execution of all plant activities to ensure goals are achieved
Meet production, quality and on time delivery requirements
Ensure compliance with OSHA, SQF, HACCP and all other relevant federal, state and local regulations
Manage labor planning activities for FT and temporary staff to effectively manage production volumes
Develop the operating plan and production schedule, coordinating with all impacted departments to execute the plant manufacturing plan
Coordinate with supply chain and logistics on raw material requirements and demand planning
Actively promote continuous improvement activities to optimize safety, quality, efficiency, cost management and a reduction in downtime and rework.
Effectively manage direct and indirect reports; providing coaching, mentorship, support for growth and development and driving of high performance
Manage the plant budget and report on financial performance
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Food Science, Engineering or other relevant program, preferred.
7+ years of progressively responsible food processing experience; cheese / dairy experience preferred
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Problem solving and continuous improvement mindset
Demonstrated dedication to safety and quality
Action oriented with strong planning, prioritization and execution skills
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively cross functionally
Effectively manages conflict

Supervisory Responsibility :
This position directly manages the plant leadership and administrative team including the Assistant Plant Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, and Sr. Production Supervisor.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work :
This is a full-time salaried position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday. Expectations of 45-50 hours per week. As a plant manager, you will be expected to respond to the after-hours needs of the plant when necessary.

Physical Requirements :
This position will involve work in both an office and plant setting to include standing / sitting for extended periods of time, safely walking to, from and around the plant on even walking surfaces, climbing stairs and being exposed to plant equipment and noise. This role will often be exposed to temperatures between 33-50 degrees Fahrenheit and PPE is required in certain areas.
